At 33 years old, I’ve never seen the United State be in such a health crisis. I’ve never seen schools canceled for weeks, colleges shut down and our medical field not prepared for a viral outbreak like this.
I’m a huge faith over fear kind of person but I can’t help but feel sad for our world, for our community and for those who are immunocompromised. I’m not going to lie, yesterday I called my mom who has Fibromyalsia (autoimmune) and my dad who is obese and very unhealthy.
My heart ached at the thought that so many people that I love and care about are not ready for something like this to happen. No one wants this to happen but when it does are we prepared for it?
Are we healthy enough to fight this virus off???
If you are, keep doing what you are doing but WE ALL can help support and strengthen our immune systems. I want to share with you over a few blogs how you can prepare yourself, your family and those you care about how to be ready for this when it comes.
It’s unfortunate that something like this has happened. However, it’s a great reminder of why we need to take care of ourselves.
I’m not trying to sound like an A-HOLE but rather someone who cares and I know that having a reason to be healthy far beyond the superficial helps us finally FIX the FUNK of yo yoing the rest of our lives.
YOU DESERVE IT! WE DESERVE IT!
So, let’s get started on talking about what you can do NOW!!!!
There are 3 main ways to set yourself up for success.
Keep in mind this is not a cure or a proven fact that you will beat the coronavirus BUT it can help increase the probability that if you come in contact with the virus that you can set yourself up to be healthier (stronger immune system) throughout that process.
The 3 things that you need to focus on daily but especially during times where you feel your immune system needs to be stronger is:
- Safety First (how you SEE! Keep reading to understand what I mean)
- Supportive Lifestyle Factors (nutrition, exercise, stress management, sleep, and mindset)
- Supplements
I will break each of these down into 3 blogs so that I don’t overwhelm you with information.
I know that you are probably feeling a bit bombarded with the media exploding with wash your hands, wear masks, sanitize everything and lysol everyone you come into contact with. Okay maybe not the last one but I’m sure some of you have thought about it. Haha!
We are all aware of those things. I’m not going to go into detail about how to wash your hands or if you want to walk around covered in saran wrap (no judgement). That information is EVERYWHERE (I will include a really awesome video below).
Rather, I want to ask you. . . Where is your heart? I’m not trying to be all mushy but I care about you and I want to help you.
If you can’t change the world.
If you can’t change what will or will NOT happen to you.
If you can’t control what other people will and will NOT do.
What are you left with???
Your FAITH, your HEART and how you CHOOSE to see the situation.
What is meant to be, will be. I don’t care what kind of faith you have, what you believe in but one thing we can agree on is that we all have an expiration date and that date is out of our control in 99% of the time.
So why not focus on what we can control, how we want to feel, and what we hope to happen? That does not hurt anyone and in fact lowers our stress response which can help our immune system.
I challenge you to see the world through the eyes of faith. If it happens, it happens and if it doesn’t then fantastic. Regardless, we are going to prepare our bodies, our minds, our emotions, and our environments so that no matter what, we got this!
Stay tuned! I just finished writing this blog and will dive into how you can set up your Lifestyle to help boost your immune system NOW!
Please share this with those you care about so that we all can help each other feel as prepared as possible. I’ll do my best to answer any and all of your questions in my future Facebook Live. Send them my way so that I can add them to the list.
